India is set to slap antidumping tariffs on recordable compact discs (CD-R) imported from Vietnam, with authorities saying they are injuring Indian manufacturers.
The Vietnam Authority Competition said Tuesday Vietnamese CD-R exporters now face a tariff of US$46.94 for every 1,000 units in India.
The ruling by India’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry also named CD-R exporters from Iran, Malaysia, South Korea, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates. All except Thailand face higher antidumping tariffs than Vietnam.
India’s imports of Vietnamese CD-Rs declined to 12.97 percent of its total imports from 16.21 percent the previous year.
Vietnamese exports of the product fell from 39.7 million pieces to 31.7 million during the period.
This is the second Indian ruling against Vietnamese products this year.
Last week they imposed antidumping tariffs ranging from $0.452 to $1.582 on Vietnamese compact fluorescent lamps.
