MUMBAI, Feb 11 (Reuters) - Coffee prices fell at the Indian Coffee Association's Thursday auction on muted export interest, auctioneers said.
The total quantity on offer at the auction was 271.1 tonnes of which 39 tonnes were sold, an auctioneer said.
"Due to the continuous drop in the international coffee prices both sections of the trade, exporters as well as domestic traders were selective in their purchases," said an auctioneer from Bangalore.
The new season Arabica Plantation PB and B grade price on offer remained unsold, A and C grade prices were lower by 100 to 200 rupees per 50 Kgs compared to the previous auction.
A few lots of Arabica Cherry PB grade on offer sold at current price levels, there was no AB and C grade on offer.
Arabica Cherry grades on offer remained unsold.
In the 2008/09 season crop, Arabica Plantation and Robusta Parchment coffees on offer received no enquiry.
A few lots of Arabica Cherry AB grade on offer sold at current price levels and were bought by a roaster.
Robusta Cherry PB and AB grade remained unsold, C grade sold at current price levels.
