India chana futures opened lower on Friday due to weak demand in the physical market, analysts said.
At 10:22 a.m., the benchmark January contract NCHF9 on National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX) was down 0.72 percent at 2,198 rupees per 100 kg.
However, a shortfall in the output of summer-sown pulses capped losses.

India guar futures also eased on weak demand as traders in the spot market deferred buying, waiting for prices to fall further as export demand wanes, analysts said.
At 10:23 a.m., January guar NGUF9 on the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange was at 1,582 rupees per 100 kg, down 0.44 percent.
