MUMBAI, July 14 (Reuters) - India has allowed export of 500 tonnes of yellow split peas to Nepal under the United Nations World Food Programme, the commerce ministry said in a statement late on Monday.
In March, India had extended a ban on exports of all pulses or lentils till end-March 2010.
The country's pulses output in 2008/09 may fall by 3.46 percent to 14.25 million tonnes on year as adverse weather dented yields of summer-sown or kharif pulses, according to government estimates released in February.
