The Federation of Indian Export Organisation (FIEO) is participating in the 105th session of the Canton fair, which is to be held
between April 15 and April 19 at Guangzhou, China. Canton fair is one of the world’s largest industrial fairs. FIEO is participating in the fair as the trade and industry representative body from India.
The 95-member FIEO delegation of Indian businessmen would be showcasing India’s strength in wide range of products including machinery & equipment, vehicle & spare parts, electronic & IT products, household electrical appliances, hardware & tools, building materials, textile materials, consumer goods, decorative items, jewellery, furniture, toys, clocks, watches, sports goods, office supplies, horticulture products, food and agricultural products.
FIEO hopes that with India and China striding on a 7% plus growth path, bilateral trade between two emerging economic powerhouses is expected to touch $60 billion by 2010 from $37.9 billion in 2007-08. To achieve the target, India needs to diversify its export basket and add more value to bridge the trade deficit with China, which is estimated at $16,281 million, said FIEO in a statement.
