Coimbatore, Oct. 12 A Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) delegation is heading to Guangzhou to participate in China Import and Export Fair – ‘CANTON Fair’ scheduled between October 15 and 19.
The FIEO President, Mr A. Sakthivel, is slated to lead a team of businessmen and Government officials including the FIEO Secretary-General, Mr G.P. Upadhayay and the Jute Commissioner, Ministry of Textiles, Mr Binod Kispotta.
Stating that the participation in such fairs would open opportunities for Indian businessmen to establish business linkage in various sectors, Mr Sakthivel said the FIEO would showcase India’s strength in wide range of products such as textile materials, machinery and equipment, vehicle and spare parts electronic, IT products, household electrical appliances, lamps and light fixtures, hardware and tools, building materials, consumer goods, decorations items, jewellery items, furniture, toys, clocks, watches, sports goods, office supplies, horticulture products, household items, cases & bags, crafts items, festival and party decorations, foods and agriculture products among others.
Mr Sakthivel is also planning to use this platform for projecting India as an ideal destination for imports and investment.
(The bilateral trade between India and China totalled $37.9 billion during 2007-08 of which exports from Indian exports stood at $10 billion and imports at $27.9 billion.)
