Kolkata, Jan.13 EEPC India has welcomed the new sets of incentives announced by the Union Commerce Minister, Mr Anand Sharma, on Tuesday. “The measures announced included many of the suggestions mooted by EEPC India in its representation to the Government from time to time,” said Mr Aman Chadha, Chairman, EEPC India, in a statement. Mr Chadha particularly referred to the inclusion of the engineering sector in the interest subvention scheme as it was a long pending demand. The expansion of MLFPS (Market-Linked Focus Product Scheme) and enhancement of the benefit of FPS were steps in the right direction. He particularly complimented the government for including China and Japan in the MLFPS, expressing the view that the inclusion of EU and the US too was needed. The EEPC India Chairman also thanked the Union Commerce Minister for the reduced rate of interest for dollar credit at LIBOR plus one per cent instead of LIBOR plus 3.5 per cent.
