EEPC India to open sub-regional office in Ahmedabad |
Ahmedabad, Aug 8(PTI) Engineering export promotion body, EEPC India today said it will shortly open a sub-regional office here to facilitate exports. "EEPC office will be issuing membership and registration-cum-membership-certificate (RCMC), which is essential for getting any export benefit against the shipment made," Regional Director EEPC Rajat Srivastava said. In order to promote exports of Indian engineering goods, EEPC India will regularly organise buyer-seller meets both in India and abroad, he said. "The office shall also build statistical base, provide data on the export and imports of the country as well as other relevant International trade data," Srivastava said. EEPC India under market access initiative scheme (MAI) has opened showroom named India Engineering Centre at Chicago, USA, he said. "The members are allowed to exhibit their engineering products in the showroom and avail subsidy towards marketing activities," Srivastava said. The engineering sector exports stood at USD 40.5 billion in 2008-09.
