NEW DELHI, Dec 22, 2008 (Dow Jones Commodities News via Comtex) -- India's sugar stocks are expected to total at least 4 million metric tons by the start of the next marketing year in October 2009, Ranjit Puri, president of the Indian Sugar Mills Association, said Monday.
Puri said there was no need to relax the export and import policy for sugar because the demand and supply situation is in balance.
"Today, when there is a balance between demand and supply, we are wholly opposed to such a relaxation," he said.
