Cotton Surges More Than 3% On Export Permission |
Cotton prices have witnessed steady trend in major mandies after approval of cotton exports from India but under license regime. The spot prices of cotton have gained almost Rs 300 per candy ( 1 candy =365 kgs ) at major mandies.
As per official release on Friday, India to export of cotton under license just as new plantings begin and a month after it halted shipment registration to control domestic prices. India had registered 8.6 million bales of export orders before halting further export registration a month ago.
The spot prices of Shankar variety at Ahmedabad mandi were quoted at Rs 29900 per candy on 25 May from Rs 28000 per candy reported on 21 May 2010.
