Clerk arrested for accepting Rs 1,000 bribe |
VADODARA: An upper division clerk was caught red-handed accepting a bribe of Rs 1,000 on Monday afternoon. Jayantkumar Avadhram working with the office of director general of foreign trade (DGFT) at Sardar Bhavan had demanded bribe from Dhavalkumar Modi, a resident of Bharuch.
Modi had approached the office of DGFT to get an import-export certificate. Avadhram and Dinesh Solanki, working as peon in the same office had sought the bribe following which Modi approached the anti-corruption bureau (ACB). The ACB team laid a trap on Monday and arrested the duo.
