PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 163(RE-2008)/2004-2009
NEW DELHI, DATED THE 23rd MARCH, 2009
In exercise of powers conferred under Paragraph 2.4 of the Foreign Trade Policy
2004-2009, the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby makes the following
amendments in Handbook of Procedures, Vol.I :
- Para 2.32.2 relating to ‘Shredded form’ shall be amended to read as under:-
“Shredded Form: Import of metallic waste and scrap listed above in shredded form
shall be permitted through all ports of India subject to following conditions: -
a. Importer shall furnish the following documents to the customs at the time of
clearance of goods.
I) Pre-shipment inspection certificate as per the format in Annexure I to
Appendix 5 from any of the Inspection & Certification agencies given in
Appendix-5 to the effect that the consignment does not contain radio active
contaminated material in any form.
II) Copy of the contract between the importer and the exporter stipulating that
the consignment does not contain any radio active contaminated material in any
form.
Import from Hodaideh, Yemen and Bandar Abbasid, Iran will be in shredded form
only. ”
