Foreign Trade Procedures (Exim Procedures)
Exim Procedure or Foreign Trade Procedure which is issued by the DGFT Director General of Foreign Trade is a book that contains all the necessary information about the rules and regulation in the matter related to Foreign Trades. Exim Procedure also known as Handbook of Procedure Volume 1 and is issued at the gap of every five year with change in the Foreign Trade Policy. Between the five years terms, any further changes or modifications in the Handbook of Procedure Volume 1 are carried out by further notifications and amendments. The main objective of the Handbook is to simple, transparent and EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) compatible procedures which are easy to administer for efficacious management of foreign trade.
The objective of Exim Procedure or Foreign Trade Procedure is to implement the provisions of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992, the Rules and Orders made there under and the Foreign Trade Policy (2009-149) incorporating the Export and Import Policy (2002-07), (2004-2009) by laying down simple, transparent and EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) compatible procedures which are easy to comply with and administer for efficacious management of foreign trade.
