Prohitibition under section 11 of Customs Act

(i) Amoured cars (i.e. vehicles specially designed and fitted for offensive purposes and provided with Armour).
(ii) Protected cars (i.e. vehicles, other than armourded cars, provided with steel plates with a view to affording protection from attack to the persons using them)

Prohibition: Bringing into India (2) The prohibition does not apply to armoured and protected cars for the importation of which a permit has been granted by the Government of India in the Defence Department or which are imported by or behalf of Government. [Ref. Ntfn 44 dated 31.08.1929]
