Subject:- Registration of contracts for export of cotton by the Directorate
General of Foreign Trade – regarding
S.O. (E) In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 5 of the Foreign Trade
(Development & Regulation) Act, 1992 (No.22 of 1992) read with Para 2.1 of the
Foreign Trade Policy, 2009-14, the Central Government hereby makes, with
immediate effect, the following amendments in respect of Sl. No. 161 A { ITC(HS)
Classification } in the Notification No. 58/2009-14 dated 17.08.2010 read with
Notification No. 6(RE-2010)/2009-14 dated 30.09.2010:-
2. The existing entries of Notification No. 58/2009-14 dated 17.08.2010 read
with Notification No. 6(RE-2010)/2009-14 dated 30.09.2010 are substituted as

3. The effect of this notification:-
The export contracts of cotton (Tariff Codes 5201, 5202 & 5203) will now be
registered by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade. Earlier, such
registration were with Textile Commissioner, Mumbai.
