As part of the GST : MISSION ALL project whereby awareness on GST law was sought to be spread far and wide in the jurisdiction of Tirupati Commissionerate, a novel idea of broadcasting GST awareness programmes over AIR Tirupati was thought of. The station Director of AIR., Tirupati was contacted who readily agreed to cover GST awareness programmes conducted at Tirupati and to broadcast the same at regular intervals over FM channels 103.2 Mhz and 107.5 Mhz.

The first awareness/outreach programme was organised at DRDA Hall, Tirupati on 24/01/2017 after giving wide publicity. Officers from all over Tirupati Commissionerate including the JAC’s from Ananthapur and Kurnool participated in the programme. Over 100 representatives from the Trade/assessees/public attended the interactive session which was entirely recorded by the technical team of AIR, Tirupati.

Overview of GST Law – Shri Harsha Sai, Inspector

Migration & registration – Shri S.Md. Rafeeq Ahmed, Superintendent

Returns in GST - Shri Vamsi Raghavendra, Inspector

At the end of each PPT, the trade / assessees were invited to freely ask their doubts and express any practical difficulties faced or envisaged. The doubts expressed and questions posed were ably answered by the officers present. Pamphlets on GST law and procedures and leaflets explaining (in simple language) the mode of migration and registration in the GSTN portal were handed over to the participants.

Subsequent to the coverage of GST awareness programme conducted almost entirely in Telugu at DRDA Hall on 24/01/2017 by AIR, Tirupati, a 15 minute capsule on the programme was broadcast on two FM channels viz., 103.2 MHz and 107.5 MHz. , on 25-01-2017

Thereafter, the entire programme was broadcast in three episodes viz., (i) Overview of GST (ii) Migration from ACES to GSTN and Registration on GSTN (iii) Returns in GST respectively on the 6th, 7th & 8th of February, 2017 at 7.15 am and on 13th, 14th & 15th February, 2017 at 6.35 pm.

The third and fourth repeat broadcast of the GST awareness/outreach programme conducted by Tirupati Commissionerate is respectively scheduled on 20th, 21st, 22nd February at 5 pm and on the 26th, 27th, 28th February at 8.35 am on FM 107.5 MHz.
