The Overall supervision of Chennai Central Excise Zone is done by the Chief Commissioner of Central Excise, Chennai. There are five Commissionerates viz., Chennai-I, Chennai-II, Chennai-III, Chennai-IV and Pondicherry each headed by a Commissioner. Chennai IV Central Excise Commissionerate has in its fold five Divisions viz., Guindy, Maduravoyal, Perungudi , Poonamallee and Chrompet - each headed by a Deputy / Assistant Commissioner.
